Restaurant billing software price in India ranges from ₹0 to ₹40,000+ a year per outlet. Simple restaurant apps start at about ₹300 a month, full POS systems with KOT, inventory and reports are usually ₹6,000 to ₹40,000 a year, and all-in-one systems that add your own ordering website and marketing cost ₹2,000 to ₹10,000 a month. What you actually pay in the first year is higher once you add GST, hardware and add-ons.
This guide explains how vendors price their software and how to work out the real total before you sign.
01How restaurant software is priced
| Pricing model | How it works | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly subscription | Pay every month, stop any time | Higher price per month than yearly |
| Yearly subscription | Pay once a year, usually cheaper per month | Refunds if you leave early |
| Per outlet | Each branch pays its own subscription | Central reports may cost extra |
| Per device or user | Extra counters, tablets or captain apps cost more | Costs grow as you add staff |
| One-time licence | Pay once for installed software | Yearly support (AMC) and updates often extra |
| Free with limits | Free core app, paid upgrades | The feature you need is often in the paid tier |

03Worked example: first-year cost for one outlet
A 40-seat restaurant picks a full POS listed at ₹10,000 a year. Here is a realistic first year:
| Item | Cost |
|---|---|
| Software subscription | ₹10,000 |
| GST at 18% on the subscription | ₹1,800 |
| Billing printer (80 mm) | ₹4,000 |
| Kitchen (KOT) printer | ₹4,000 |
| Inventory add-on | ₹3,000 |
| Paper rolls for the year | ₹2,500 |
| First-year total | ₹25,300 |
The example numbers are illustrative. The point: the first year often costs twice the subscription price. From the second year, only the subscription, GST and paper repeat. See KOT printer prices for hardware.
04Is it worth it? Compare with commission
Most restaurants judge software only by its price. A better test is what it earns back. If you pay Swiggy and Zomato ₹20,000 a month in commission and the software moves even 20% of those orders to your own ordering website, it saves about ₹4,000 a month. See what Zomato commission really costs.

FAQ
How much does restaurant billing software cost per month in India?
About ₹300 to ₹1,000 a month for basic restaurant apps, and roughly ₹500 to ₹3,500 a month for a full POS when the yearly price is spread out. All-in-one systems with ordering and marketing cost ₹2,000 to ₹10,000 a month.
Is yearly billing cheaper than monthly?
Usually yes, by about 10–20%. Pay monthly for the first few months until you are sure the software fits, then switch to yearly.
Do I need to buy POS hardware?
Usually not. Most modern billing software runs on an Android phone, tablet or laptop with a thermal printer.
Is GST charged on restaurant software?
Yes, software subscriptions carry 18% GST. If your restaurant is GST-registered, ask your accountant whether you can claim it as input tax credit.
Summary
Restaurant billing software costs ₹0 to ₹40,000+ a year, but compare the first-year total, not the headline price: add GST, printers, add-ons and paper. Then ask what the software earns back, from faster billing to direct orders that skip commission.
