Cheapest Restaurant Billing Software in India (Honest 2026 Price List)

The cheapest restaurant billing apps cost nothing to a few hundred rupees a month, while full restaurant POS systems cost ₹6,000 to ₹40,000+ a year. An honest price list, the hidden costs, and how to pick.

The cheapest restaurant billing software in India costs nothing to a few hundred rupees a month. General GST billing apps start from a few hundred rupees a year, simple restaurant apps from about ₹300 a month, and full restaurant POS systems with KOT, inventory and online ordering usually cost ₹6,000 to ₹40,000+ a year. The cheapest option is right only if it does what your restaurant actually needs.

Below are the price ranges we found in October 2026, what you get at each level, and the costs vendors don't put on the pricing page.

  • Khatabook / myBillBook / Vyapar: general billing apps with free or low-cost plans; paid plans from a few hundred to about ₹1,100 a year. Not built for restaurants (weak KOT and table handling).
  • Loyverse POS: the core POS app is free; some add-ons are paid. Built for small shops and cafes worldwide, less tuned to Indian GST billing habits.
  • DineOpen: listed from about ₹300 a month.
  • TMBill: listed around ₹6,000 a year.
  • Petpooja: listed from around ₹10,000 a year; add-ons cost extra.
  • POSist (Restroworks): listed around ₹36,800 a year, aimed at larger restaurants and chains.
  • RestroGrow: ₹2,999 a month for small restaurants, ₹4,999 for growing ones, with a 7-day free trial.

To be clear: RestroGrow is not the cheapest option on this list. It includes your own ordering website, WhatsApp ordering, loyalty and marketing tools on top of billing and KOT. If you only need to print bills, a cheaper app is the better choice.

03The hidden costs

GST on the subscription: most prices are shown without 18% GST.

Hardware: a billing printer (₹2,500–₹9,000), a kitchen printer, maybe a tablet. Some vendors require their own hardware at a higher price. See KOT printer prices.

Add-ons: inventory, Swiggy/Zomato integration, loyalty, extra outlets or extra devices are often charged separately.

Setup and training: some vendors charge for installation and menu setup.

Per-order or per-bill fees: rare in billing software, but check. Avoid anything that takes a percentage of your sales.

Switching cost: if your data can't be exported, moving later is painful.

04How to choose without overpaying

  1. List what you need today: tables? KOT? parcel orders? stock? more than one outlet?
  2. Check it works on what you own: Android phone, tablet or laptop, so you don't need expensive POS hardware.
  3. Check offline billing: billing must continue when the internet drops.
  4. Ask for the full yearly cost including GST, hardware and add-ons.
  5. Use the free trial in a real rush hour, not on a quiet afternoon.
  6. Think about orders, not just bills: if you pay Swiggy and Zomato ₹20,000 a month in commission, software that moves even a part of those orders to direct ordering pays for itself.

FAQ

Which is the cheapest restaurant billing software in India?

Free billing apps and general GST billing apps are the cheapest, but they have weak KOT and table features. For proper restaurant billing, simple restaurant apps start at around ₹300 a month.

Is free restaurant billing software good enough?

For a cart or a tiny cafe, often yes. For a restaurant with tables, a kitchen and several staff, a paid restaurant POS saves more money than it costs. See our list of free billing apps for Android.

Do I need special POS hardware?

Usually not. Most modern billing software runs on an Android phone, tablet or laptop with a thermal printer.

What does Petpooja cost?

Software marketplaces listed Petpooja from around ₹10,000 a year in October 2026, with add-ons extra. Ask Petpooja for a current quote.

Summary

Cheap is easy to find; the question is what you need. Bills only: a free or low-cost app. Tables and KOT: a restaurant app from about ₹300 a month. Inventory, staff and reports: a full POS. Growing direct orders: an all-in-one like RestroGrow. Always add GST, hardware and add-ons to the price before you compare.
