Swiggy Joining Charges and Fees for Restaurants (2026 Guide)

What does it really cost to list your restaurant on Swiggy? Onboarding, commission, payment and per-order fees explained, plus the documents you need and how to keep more of each order.

Swiggy joining charges for restaurants are small; staying on Swiggy is what costs money. The main cost is the commission on every order, which for most restaurants falls roughly between 15% and 25% of the order value, plus GST on that commission and some other per-order charges. Any one-time onboarding fee is small next to that, and Swiggy has changed it over the years, so confirm it with Swiggy before you sign.

Swiggy sets fees per restaurant, so two restaurants on the same street can pay different rates. Use this guide to know what to ask, and always check your own partner agreement and payout statements.

01Swiggy joining charges for restaurants: the one-time onboarding fee

Swiggy has at different times charged a one-time onboarding fee and at other times waived it as a launch offer. Ask the Swiggy team directly, and only pay through the official Swiggy partner app or website. Never pay an "agent" who promises faster listing or lower commission.

02Commission: the biggest cost

Commission is a percentage of every order. Published reports put it roughly between 15% and 30%, with most restaurants quoted around 18% to 25%. Swiggy has said it sets commission at the individual restaurant level. What usually affects your rate:

  • Order volume: high-volume restaurants and chains get better rates.
  • Delivery: using Swiggy's delivery partners costs more than delivering yourself.
  • Exclusivity: being only on Swiggy (not Zomato) may lower the rate.
  • Location and category: rates are negotiated per outlet.

Cloud kitchens pay commission the same way as restaurants; there is no special public rate for them.

03Other charges to look for in your payout

GST on commission: 18% GST is charged on the commission and fees Swiggy bills you.

Payment collection fee: Swiggy has announced a payment collection fee of around 2% for some partners in the past; reports later said it was put on hold after restaurant pushback. Check whether it appears in your statement.

Swiggy One orders: from November 2025, select partners pay an extra per-order charge on orders from Swiggy One members, based on how many of your orders come from members.

Ads and offers: sponsored listings and discounts you fund are optional, but they can add a lot. Track them separately.

Note: the "platform fee" you see on the customer's bill (₹12–₹15) is paid by the customer, not by you.

04What a ₹500 order may leave you with

An example only; your rates will differ:

ItemAmount
Food value₹500
Commission at 22%– ₹110
18% GST on commission– ₹19.80
Payment/other fees (about 2%)– ₹10
Discount you fund (say ₹40)– ₹40
Reaches your bankabout ₹320

That is close to 36% gone before you pay for ingredients, packaging and staff. Price your Swiggy menu with this in mind.

05Documents you need to join Swiggy

  • FSSAI licence or registration (Swiggy won't list you without a valid 14-digit FSSAI number)
  • PAN card (personal or business)
  • GST registration, if your turnover requires it
  • Bank account details with a cancelled cheque
  • Menu with prices, and good food photos
  • Shop or kitchen address proof

Onboarding usually takes a few days to a couple of weeks after documents are verified.

06How to keep more of every order

  1. Negotiate. Ask for a lower commission once your volume grows, and compare offers from Zomato.
  2. Set separate delivery prices. Many restaurants keep app prices 10–20% higher than dine-in prices to cover the commission.
  3. Turn app customers into direct customers. Put a card in every parcel: "Order directly on WhatsApp or our website and get 10% off." A repeat customer who orders directly costs you no commission.
  4. Have your own ordering channel. With RestroGrow, you get your own ordering website and WhatsApp ordering with zero commission. See how to take orders on WhatsApp.
