Best Restaurant POS Software in India (2026): A Fair Comparison

There is no single best restaurant POS software for everyone. Here is what Petpooja, Restroworks (Posist), DotPe and Rista, GoFrugal, eZee Optimus and RestroGrow each focus on, and how to choose for a QSR, fine dine, cloud kitchen, cafe or bar.

The best restaurant POS software is the one that fits how your restaurant actually runs. A busy QSR needs fast billing and Swiggy/Zomato orders on one screen. A fine dine needs tables, captains and a calm kitchen. A cloud kitchen lives on delivery apps. A cafe or bar needs separate tickets for the bar. No product is the best at all of these.

This guide looks at well-known options in India, based on what each company says on its own website or app listing in October 2026. We have not added prices or ratings: both change often, so ask each vendor for a written quote and use their free trial or demo.

01What every restaurant POS should do

Before comparing brands, make sure any option covers the basics:

  • Fast billing with GST, discounts and split payments.
  • KOT to the kitchen on a printer or kitchen screen. See how KOTs work.
  • Billing that keeps working offline when the internet drops.
  • Tables and staff logins so waiters, cashiers and the kitchen each see their own work.
  • Reports you can read on your phone and export for your accountant.
  • Your data out: you should be able to download your menu, orders and customers if you ever switch.

03A closer look at each

Petpooja

Petpooja's billing page says it works in offline mode, lets you assign a printer to every station so KOTs go to the right counter, and supports several billing counters synced to one master. Its online ordering page describes Swiggy, Zomato and Dineout integration on the same screen. Its app marketplace lists add-ons such as a kitchen display system, captain app, purchase manager and a loyalty wallet, plus online order reconciliation for aggregator payouts.

Restroworks (formerly Posist)

Posist renamed itself Restroworks. Its site puts multi-unit and franchise chains first, with central control of menus and pricing, kitchen display and production tools, inventory, recipe and supply chain management, kiosks, QR and website ordering, and open APIs.

DotPe and Rista by DotPe

DotPe's site lists a POS, QR ordering and payments, marketplace and delivery integrations and inventory. DotPe bought the Rista POS in 2021; the Rista app listing describes offline billing, dine-in, takeaway and delivery orders, bill splitting, stock tracking and multi-store management.

GoFrugal

GoFrugal's restaurant page describes KOT and KDS, Swiggy and Zomato integration, QR menu ordering, ingredient-level stock with low-stock alerts, an on-premise POS for working without internet, and mobile apps for billing, table orders and owner reports.

eZee Optimus

eZee Optimus is the restaurant POS from eZee, now part of Yanolja Cloud Solution, which also makes hotel software. Its site describes restaurant, bar and room-service bills going to the right guest folio, which is why hotels with restaurants often look at it.

RestroGrow

RestroGrow covers counter billing with GST, KOTs to the kitchen and BOTs to the bar (see what a BOT is), a kitchen screen with timers, offline billing that syncs later, and inventory linked to recipes. On the growth side, every restaurant gets its own ordering website with your own domain, table QR ordering, WhatsApp ordering, coupons and a loyalty programme. It runs in the browser with Android apps for owners and staff, and supports several outlets under one brand. One honest gap: Swiggy and Zomato orders do not flow into the RestroGrow POS yet, so busy delivery-first kitchens should keep that in mind.

04Which one fits your type of restaurant?

QSR and takeaway counters: billing speed, token or counter flow, offline billing, and aggregator orders on the same screen matter most. Shortlist tools that show Swiggy and Zomato integration on their own site.

Fine dine: look for table layouts, captain or waiter apps, course-wise KOTs, reservations and a kitchen screen. Your own ordering website and loyalty help bring guests back.

Cloud kitchens: almost every order comes from delivery apps, so aggregator integration and reconciliation reports come first. Multi-brand menus from one kitchen are worth asking about.

Cafes and bars: you need separate bar tickets (BOT) and a bar printer or screen, quick reorders per table, and loyalty for regulars.

Chains and franchises: central menu and price control, outlet-wise reports, inventory and purchase across outlets, and APIs for your other systems.

05How to choose without regret

  1. Write down your must-haves before any demo. Don't let the salesperson set the list.
  2. Run the trial in a real rush hour with your own menu and staff.
  3. Test the printers you own: billing, KOT and bar. See KOT printer prices.
  4. Ask for the full yearly cost in writing, including add-ons, extra devices, outlets and hardware.
  5. Ask how to export your data if you leave.
  6. Call support once during the trial, ideally in the evening, and see how fast they answer.

FAQ

Which is the best restaurant POS software in India?

There is no single best one. Chains often look at Restroworks, delivery-heavy QSRs at tools with strong Swiggy/Zomato integration such as Petpooja or GoFrugal, hotel restaurants at eZee, and restaurants that want their own online orders and loyalty at RestroGrow. Match the tool to your restaurant type.

Do I need Swiggy and Zomato integration in my POS?

If a large share of your orders come from delivery apps, yes: it saves re-typing every order. If most guests dine in or order directly, it matters less.

Can a restaurant POS work without the internet?

Many can. Check that billing and KOTs continue offline and that bills sync once the internet is back. See offline billing software.

How long does it take to switch POS?

Usually a few days: set up the menu, tables, printers and staff, then run both systems for a day or two before you switch fully.

Summary

The best restaurant POS software in India depends on your format. Chains need central control, QSRs and cloud kitchens need aggregator integration, hotels need folio billing, and dine-in restaurants, cafes and bars need good KOT/BOT flow plus tools that bring guests back. Shortlist two or three, test them in a real rush hour, and get the full cost in writing.
